Born on August 25, 1987, in a small village in Nepal—Sankhuwasabha—Jitu Rai later moved to India and became an Indian citizen. His father worked as a farmer, and village life—though simple—was nonetheless fraught with challenges. He completed his early education in Nepal; however, given the limited opportunities available there, he decided to look elsewhere in search of a better future.In pursuit of stability and a better career, Rai moved to India and joined the Indian Army in 2006.
